Peer Advisors

Chabot College offers various forms of Peer Advising from on-campus, in the classroom, and throughout the community. Together these three areas of Peer Advising allow Chabot College to assist students to reach their maximum potential, ensuring each student has the resources available to utilize all Chabot College has to offer. Chabot College Peer Advisors are the ambassador's of the college both on campus and in the community.


Position Description

As a Peer Advisor, your knowledge of the Chabot College campus is utilized in many ways. Peer Advisors are stationed throughout Chabot's campus and community to provide assistance and support to other students with campus related questions or directing them to the appropriate programs or services. Peer Advisors are to provide students with accurate, helpful information and referrals.


  • Attend all required Peer Advisor training sessions.
  • Stay abreast of campus deadlines, events, new updates and current announcements
  • Be punctual for all scheduled peer advising hours.
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with your colleagues and support staff members.



  • Excellent communication skills
  • Responsible, dependable, and mature
  • Friendly, patient, and sensitive to a diversity of students.
  • Instructor or staff recommendation.
  • 2.5 minimum GPA
  • Must maintain a 12 unit minimum enrollment.
  • Have knowledge of the campus and have attended Chabot as a student for one year or more.
