Join Ms. Frances Fon, Chabot College Transfer Center Counselor, for a time together on the topics that pertain to students transferring out in Fall 2023 (but all are welcome)!

Financial Aid and Transfer Students

What we'll cover:

  • Cost/aid differences between the community college and university
  • Learn how to research costs and use net price calculator tools
  • What to expect with regard to university financial aid award and your transition to the university. *Referrals to our own and the university financial aid resources and services
  • Bring your questions!

Private/Out-of-State Transfer (POST) Opportunities

What we'll cover:

  • Learn about the different private colleges in California
  • Learn about the HBCU Transfer Admission Guarantee
  • Tips when preparing to apply for private/out-of-state institutions

Getting Ready for Spring 2024/Fall 2024 Transfer to CSU

What we'll cover:

  • Overview of minimum requirements to be considered by a CSU
  • Resource sheet you and your counselor can reference to conduct a CSU Transfer Readiness check.
  • Support with identify remaining courses for which to register in Summer 2023 and beyond ahead of course registration season.
  • Resources and services available for application and transition support to the university.
  • If you have one, bring your laptop!!! We will conduct a pre-application check!

Materials You May Want to Have In Front of You 

  • Attend workshop using your laptop, if you have one.
  • Log in to view your DegreeWorks or Class Web Unofficial Transcript
  • Copies of transcripts from all colleges and universities attended (does not have to be sealed)
  • Advanced Placement (AP) scores and/or International Baccalaureate (IB) scores, high school transcripts/records
