I came to the field of early childhood education after a long career in communications and consumer health education. I have worked as a preschool teacher in a private preschool, as a professional development coordinator at Merritt College in Oakland, then at First 5 Alameda County as a preschool rater for Quality Counts, and then as Chabot's Early Childhood Career Navigator. I was a part-time instructor at both Merritt College and Chabot, and then in 2019 was hired as a full-time instructor at Chabot. I live in Oakland with my husband, my older daughter, my granddaughter and our dogs, Ruby and Kai. (I have another daughter who lives in New York City.) In my spare time, I love to travel, sew, quilt, and binge-watch TV shows.
