Paul Pinza is a San Jose native with a career spanning 25 years in education. In the classroom, he taught high school ESL, literacy, public speaking, and launched an AP English Language course that successfully recruited underrepresented students. He also served on the Curriculum Framework Committee with the California Department of Education, helping to draft the state’s K-12 instructional framework for English and ESL. “I’ve seen first-hand how integrated tutoring operations and learning communities cultivate college-readiness among marginalized and underrepresented students. I’m thrilled to work at Chabot as we re-imagine what a truly accessible and just college looks and feels like.” Paul lives in Campbell with his wife Rhee, their dog Domino, and their son Donovan, an aspiring geologist who will be enrolling in Sonoma State this Fall. He has acted and directed community theatre productions; enjoys seeing a good movie, play, or musical; and plays soccer and disc golf when he can.
