How to Login to Blackboard

Step 1: Go to the Blackboard login page:

Go to the login page http://clpccd.blackboard.com. Add this address to your Favorites or Bookmark it, otherwise you may end up having to login twice each time if you save any other page.

Step 2: Enter your username and password:

Username: Your User Identification Number, which is a unique number beginning with W and containing 8 digits.

Password: the first two letters of your first name, followed by the first two letters of your last name (all lowercase), followed by the last four digits of your User Identification Number.

For example, Maria Valdez with a User Identification Number of W12345678 would log in as:

• Username: W12345678
• Password: mava5678 (all lowercase letters + last four digits)

Click Login. You may see the following Security Alert:

Click Yes. You should now be in Blackboard.

Step 3: Verify your e-mail address

In order to receive email from your instructors, you must determine which email account you want to use for Blackboard. The default email address posted in Blackboard is zonemail. Students will automatically receive school emails through their Zonemail account unless changed to a personal account. You can choose between one of the following:

OPTION #1: Use the campus-provided zonemail account (this is the default email address in Blackboard). Find out how to access your new zonemail account.   OPTION #2: Leave zonemail as your default email address in CLASS-Web and Blackboard, but forward all email to your personal email account   OPTION #3: Use your existing personal email account. You will need to enter your email address in CLASS-Web. Follow the 5 steps below. 1) Login to CLASS-Web 2) Select "What is my email address?" 3) Select "Update Email Address" 4) Under "Type of E-mail to Insert" select "Email for Blackboard" and press "Submit" 5) Enter the email address in the field next to "E-mail" and press "Submit"

Step 4: (OPTIONAL): Change your password

Look for the Tools box (see screenshot, right), and click on Personal Information. (If you do not see the Tools box, you are not on the "My Institution" page. Click on the "My Institution" tab in the upper-left corner). Click Change Password Enter your own unique password in both password fields. Click Submit at the bottom. At the next two screens, click OK. If you forget your password, click on Forgot Password or request a password re-set from the Help Desk.

Step 5: Access your course site(s)

Look to the far right under My Courses and click on a course link to enter a course site. Once in each course site, click on each menu item (button) to become familiar with the contents posted by your instructor.

You are now ready to begin your course!
