To help prepare Chabot students for their first online class, we now offer two new methods of support. If you are interested in a complete course that provides an Introduction to Online Learning for new, current, and future online students, consider GNST 4910: Introduction to Online Learning. For a one-hour, on-campus Orientation to Online Learning for all online students you may be interested in attending one of our Orientations to Online Learning. These resources are designed to help you succeed in your online course!
First-time online students are urged to attend a brief on-campus Orientation to Online Learning that provides Blackboard log in instructions and help, an overview of the Blackboard course management system, and tips on netiquette, time management, and study skills for the online student. Attend any one of these sessions:
Wednesday, August 20th, 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 3906
Thursday, August 21st, noon-1:00 p.m. in Room 3906
Thursday, August 21st, 4:00-5:00 p.m. in Room 3906
Saturday, August 23rd, 10:00-11:00 a.m. in Room 3906
Monday, August 25th, 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 3906
Tuesday, August 26th, noon-1:00 p.m. in Room 3906
If you’re taking a late start course, you can also attend one of these sessions:
Saturday, September 20th, 10:00-11:00 a.m. in Room 1602
Monday, September 22nd, 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 1602
Tuesday, September 23rd, noon-1:00 p.m. in Room 1602
Note: Please check the Chabot class schedule or check with your instructor to see if your course has any required on-campus meetings. The orientations listed above are optional and may not take the place of a required on-campus meeting for your specific course.
