How do I know if I have KCSM?
KCSM is station from the College of San Mateo that reaches most of the Bay Area.
However, note that they will not always cablecast all of our telecourses, and
their schedule may be very different from what you need to complete your
telecourse. You will have to decide whether or not this option works for you.
To see if you get KCSM:
- First, check your TV guide to see if you
see
KCSM listed (the channel number
depends on your area).
- Turn your TV to the channel listed. The KCSM logo may be displayed.
- If you need assistance or have questions about KCSM,
contact KCSM directly.
I have a problem with my set of videos.
If you have any
problems with the set of videos you rented from the bookstore, bring the entire set of videos to the
Chabot College Bookstore and
exchange it for another set.
What if I have
other questions?
- For general questions, use our online Help Request Form (be sure to select "I
have a question about Distance Education courses") and you should expect a reply from minutes to
within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays).
- For very specific questions about a course,
contact the instructor.
Telecourse viewing options (see table below)
Note courses may be denoted as "telecourses" in the class schedule, but the media formats
for each course can vary
significantly (see table below). Be sure to read the notes for your specific class in
Class-Web.
*Viewing Discovering Psychology Video-on-Demand. Students can go to the
website, create an account, and view at any time:
- Go to Annenberg
- Locate the column on FREE Video on Demand.
- You will need to register (no fee) on to Annenberg once then then can go
directly to series each time.
- To view the video as a large screen: once the video starts to play, all
you need to do is move your mouse to the video and right click. The options of
of full screen will appear then click the the video should fill your screen.
- Any problems, contact your instructor.
Note: Chabot
College is not affiliated with Annenberg/CPB and therefore we cannot guarantee
the availability of this service. However, it has been in use for a few years
and the instructor reports positive feedback from students. If your telecourse video
series is listed as being available on the web, try it out and provide feedback
to your instructor.
