Blackboard and Email, Zonemail, & The Zone
In order to receive email from your instructors, you must first determine which email account you want to be associated with your Blackboard account. Keep in mind that the email account you use for Blackboard should be checked regularly to ensure that you do not miss important emails from your instructors.
The default email address posted in Blackboard is your Chabot-provided Zonemail email address, but you have the option to either foward Zonemail email to another account OR change the email address associated with your Blackboard account to a personal account.
What is the email address posted for my Blackboard account?
The default email address posted in Blackboard is your Zonemail. If you would like to change the email posted for you in Blackboard, you will need to change the email account settings in CLASS-Web:
The new email address should take effect in Blackboard in about 2 hours, although the change may take up to 24 hours.
Students should receive information about their Zonemail upon registration.
Students can always find out your zonemail address by logging into CLASS-Web with your W ID and six digit PIN, and then clicking on the Main Menu click and then the link “What is my email address?”
Note: Your zonemail address contains "@zonemail.clpccd.edu" in the address.

If you want to forward email sent to your Zonemail to a personal email account, you will need to log into The Zone and set up your college email account so it automatically forwards all emails to your personal account.
If you want to change your password, click Settings, then Accounts, then Change Password.
Chabot-Las Positas Community College District provides a portal that can link your college accounts to one system called the Zone. The Zone is a "one-stop" location for you to login and access multiple systems (CLASS-Web, Blackboard, Financial Aid, Library, etc.) of the College, reducing the multiple times required for you to login.
