PACE PROGRAM

Who Are PACE Students?

PACE: Evening/Saturday Degree & Transfer Program

PACE Student Criteria

Chabot College PACE Degree & Transfer Program for Working Adults

PACE Students:

·         Work at least 30 hours per week

·         Need Evening, Saturday & Online Classes

·         Are Re-Entry Students: generally 25 years or older and have been out of school for at least 2 years

·         Have a maximum of 20 units of General Education previously completed

·         Must have a goal to obtain an A.A. Degree and/or transfer to CSU or a private college

·          Are pursuing one of the following degrees:

o   A.A. in Liberal Arts, Option I or II with an Area of Emphasis in Social & Behavioral Sciences

o   A.A. in Behavioral Science (Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology)

o   A.A. in Early Childhood Education (General Ed classes may be taken via PACE, ECD classes must be taken outside of PACE)

o   A.A. in Business Administration (General Ed classes may be taken via PACE, Business classes must be taken outside of PACE; see separate "PACE for Business Majors")

o   A.A. in Nursing (General Ed classes may be taken via PACE prior to Nursing Pre-requisite Sciences, which must be taken outside of PACE; separate Nursing Application is required prior to Admission to Nursing Program.  See separate "PACE for Nursing Majors")

o   B.A. in Human Development or Psychology or Sociology or other Social Science

o   B.A. in Liberal Studies or Education

o   B.S. in Business Administration (Business classes must be taken outside of PACE)

·         Make a commitment to take only PACE classes for their General Education while enrolled in PACE, generally for 4-6 semesters (not including Summers)

·         Attend a PACE Information Meeting prior to admission to PACE

·         Complete a PACE Application including Essay and copies of all prior college transcripts

·         Sign a pledge that they understand these requirements and intend to fulfill them

·         Participate in a PACE Program Evaluation each semester
