Denny Aye has guided the Gladiator basketball program to new heights. Three straight seasons Chabot has made it to the Sweet 16 in the California Community College playoffs. In 7 seasons he has guided Chabot to a record of (134-87).  In each of his seasons Chabot has been ranked in the top ten in Northern California, six of which have resulted in at least a regional playoff appearance. 

The 2012-13 season will be Coach Aye's 37th year as a head men's collegiate basketball coach and his 8th year at Chabot College.  In Aye's 36 years coaching he has accumulated a career record of (758-372).  Aye has coached at numerous levels of men's collegiate basketball including, NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA and California Community College.  Aye was also an NBA scout for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Aye has been a head coach for 19 years in the California Community College system, with 9 trips to the state Final Eight and a record of (469-167).   

From 1985-94 coach Aye constructed a powerhouse at Columbia College.  His 9 year record of (247-65) 79.2% set the tone for his future successes in California.  In 1989, he coached his preseason nationally #2 ranked Columbia College team to a California State Championship Runner-Up finish, and shortly after won the California State Championship in 1993.  While at Columbia College Aye led his teams to an astonishing 8 State Final Eight appearances in 9 seasons. While at Columbia College 44 out of 46 players transferred on to a 4 year college or university.

In 1994 Aye took over the helm at CSU San Bernardino where he was the only coach in school history to compile three consecutive winning seasons, as well as a school record for wins in a season (17-9) at the NCAA II level.

In 1997 Aye was hired as head coach at Fresno City College where in 3 seasons his team racked up a record of (88-16) 84.6% and made it to the State Final Eight twice.

From 2001-2005 Coach Aye was the head coach at Marshalltown Community College where in his last season his team defeated three-time defending national champions Southeastern CC twice, #1 ranked Moberly and Indian Hills CC.  Seven players from that team transferred on to D1 scholarships.  Their 25-9 record was the best finish in school history with NJCAA Region XI Runner-Up finish.

Coach Aye has set school records for victories at 4 different colleges: Palmer Junior College (26-7), Panhandle State University (23-8), Columbia College (33-3), and California State University San Bernardino (17-9).
Coach Aye has been named California Coach of the Year, Northern California Coach of the Year 3 times, and 7 times Conference Coach of the Year.  Aye has also coached 4 Northern California Players of the Year, as well as 3 Northern California Player of the Year Runner-Ups.

Coach Collins enters his 2nd season at Chabot College after spending 6 seasons at Los Medanos College and 1 at College Alameda, 1 of those years at LMC was spend as the head coach.  Coach Collins known as one of the top recruiters in Northern California, and will assist Coach Aye with, on-the-floor coach, practice planning, recruiting and the day to day operations of the basketball team. In Marshall's seasons at LMC, he helped them to a top 5 Ranking in the North and 8th is the State, back to back League MVPs and All State players, four 20-plus win seasons. Four top 10 offense teams and over 20 4-year scholarships for his players throughout the years. In 2008-09 Marshall Collins helped put together a team that lead to the most wins in Los Medanos College history (25-8)Marshall played his high school basketball at Oakland Tech where he was an All-league player in 2 sports (basketball and Baseball). He attended Long Beach State before transferring to Long Beach City College.  While at LBCC as a player Marshall went 50-18 in two years. Marshall ended has college career at Park University, He also played semi-pro basketball for 2 seasons.

Dion Aye is the middle son of Head Coach Denny Aye.  Dion is the owner of two businesses and volunteers his time as an assistant coach.  Dion has embraced the role of recruiting coordinator over the past couple of years, and begins his third year on the men's basketball staff.

As a player Dion Aye played at Clovis West high school in Fresno, California under current NBA assistant coach Vance Walberg.  After consecutive CIF Section Championships at Clovis West Dion moved onto Fresno City College for a year and then Marshalltown Community College in Iowa. At Marshalltown he was ranked #1 in the nation for 3 point percentage (68%) prior to a season ending injury.  After graduating from Marshalltown College Dion earned a full athletic scholarship to Southern University in New Orleans.  At Southern he was a part of two nationally ranked top 5 teams that competed in the National Division I NAIA Tournament.   Dion graduated from Southern University with the distinction of summa cum laude after accumulating a perfect 4.0 gpa. 

After finishing up with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Dion pursued a career as an entrepreneur.  His career in business spanned from New Orleans to Dallas before moving back to California.  In addition to having his own financial services firm, Dion also has founded his own meeting venue business.

Dion lives with his wife Amber in Manteca, Ca.
