The 2011-12 season will be Devin's 7th year as assistant
collegiate coach and 4th year as assistant at Chabot College. Devin comes back to Chabot after a two
year stint as the Full-Time assistant men's basketball coach at
NCAA II CSU East Bay in Hayward, CA.
Devin first began his coaching career in 05-06 at Cosumnes
River College in Sacramento, CA. Then moved to Hayward to assist
for Head Coach and father Denny Aye at Chabot College in
2006-2008. The Gladiators posted a 43-26
record with Devin helping on the sidelines. During the summer of
2008 Devin was hired as the Full-Time assistant coach at CSU
East Bay where he helped the Pioneers win the Cal Pac
Conference, and Cal Pac Tournament for the first time in school
history as well as recruiting Cal Pac Player of the Year and
All-American, Tauran Moore. Devin assists in all aspects
of the program and is especially known for his recruiting
efforts.
Devin played High School basketball at both Bullard HS in
Fresno, CA and Marshalltown HS in Marshalltown, IA. Devin
lettered 4 years on varsity as a combo guard. His Marshalltown
HS team finished ranked #3 in the state of Iowa his junior year
and lost in the state semis at the buzzer his senior year. Devin
was an all-state honorable mention in the large school division his junior year.
Devin played collegiate basketball at San Jose City College
for Hall of Fame coach Percy Carr. After one season Devin
transferred to play for his father, Denny Aye at Marshalltown
Community College where his team eventually beat the 3 time
defending national champions (Southeastern CC) twice, Indian
Hills and #1 ranked Moberly. MCC finished with a school record
25-9 record and an NJCAA Region XI Runner-Up finish. 7 of the 10
players on the team received Division one scholarships. Devin
concluded his basketball career due to injury.
Devin received his AA degree at Marshalltown CC in 04-05, his
Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from CSU East Bay (2008). In
August of 2009 Devin completed his Masters of Science in Sport
Management from California University Pennsylvania. |
