Kenny Barton will be entering his second year as a member of
the Gladiators men’s basketball coaching staff.
With his help the Gladiators had a 21-14 overall record
during the 2007-2008 season, helping them advance to the second
round of the state playoffs.
Kenny arrived at Chabot College after spending a year as the
boy’s assistant basketball coach at Wheaton High School in
Silver Springs, Maryland. He was working under legendary, Steve
Hood. Steve was a 1986 McDonald’s All-American who went on to be
drafted by the Sacramento Kings after having a stellar playing
career at James Madison University.
Kenny finished his high school basketball career at Riverdale
Baptist School in Largo, Maryland. In his senior year he was
named the Tri-State Conference MVP, Tri-State Conference
Tournament MVP, First Team All-League, Riverdale Baptist’s Best
Offensive Player and Tri-State All-Academic selection.
Kenny played college basketball under Coach Bill Chambers at
Greensboro College in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Kenny obtained his Bachelors in Science in Sports and
Exercise Studies from Greensboro College in Greensboro, North
Carolina. He then completed the Master's program in Sports
Management at the University of San Francisco in San Francisco,
California. |
