This program was established in 2005 to provide financial assistance to Chabot College students to purchase textbooks/supplies through the Chabot College Bookstore. Please read the following information carefully so that you are aware of all the policies and procedures for receiving a book scholarship.
Varies ($300 maximum)
Award amount depends on availability of funds and number of scholarships awarded. All awards will be credited and made available through the Chabot College Bookstore, and purchases are not valid for external book purchases. The scholarship must be used within the semester for which it is awarded. All unused awards as of September 15 (Fall Scholarship) and February 15 (Spring Scholarship) will be returned to the book scholarship fund.
Book scholarships are awarded in the Fall for the Spring Semester and in the Spring Semester for the Fall Semester.
Applications are reviewed and a notification letter will be mailed within 2 - 4 weeks after the application deadline informing you of your status. If you are awarded a scholarship, a book voucher will be available for pickup from the Office of Student Life one week before classes start. Any bookstore refunds will be directly applied to the book scholarship program.
Book scholarships will be awarded during the Fall and Spring Semesters. In order to be considered for a Fall Book Scholarship you must submit a completed application prior to May 15. In order to be considered for a Spring Book Scholarship you must submit a completed application prior to November 15. All applications must be submitted to the Office of Student Life, Room 2355 prior to dates mentioned above.
