High school seniors attending the following districts and schools should apply to
Chabot College using www.californiacolleges.edu:
- Hayward Unified (Brenkwitz, Hayward High, Mt. Eden, Tennyson)
- New Haven Unified (Conley Carabello, Decoto Ind. Studies, James Logan)
- San Leandro Unified (Lincoln/SLVA, San Leandro High)
- San Lorenzo Unified (Arroyo, East Bay Arts, Royal Sunset, San Lorenzo High)
After you sign in to CaliforniaColleges, hover on College on the top menu and launch
the application by clicking on California Community Colleges Application. Select Chabot
College and continue with the application. See your College & Career Staff or High
School Counselor for help.

To be considered a "SOAR" student:
- Under the “Education" section:
- Please choose the option “received high school diploma” and enter your future date of graduation
- Under the "Supplemental Questions" section:
- “Are you currently a high school senior?” answer YES
- Be sure to indicate which special programs/learning communities are of interest
IMPORTANT:
- Use your personal email address not your high school email
- If you are undecided about taking summer courses, complete the Summer Application,
which will allow you to register for Summer and/or Fall. If you complete the Fall
application and later decide to take Summer courses, you will need to complete a new
Summer application

The 2025-26 Financial Aid (FAFSA/CADAA) application opens December 1, 2024.
Activate MyPortal
MyPortal is where you can see your Steps to Success, financial aid status, DegreeWorks,
and where you register and pay for classes.
Newly admitted students will receive an email to activate MyPortal after receiving
the W Number email from Admissions and Records:
- Students will receive their initial MyPortal activation email to both their Zonemail
and personal email addresses.
- Check your email, with subject "MyPortal Login - Activation"

Log-in to your Zonemail account
Zonemail is your student email. It is important to check your Zonemail regularly as
all official Chabot communication comes to this email (i.e. class and financial aid
info)
You can find your Zonemail college email address and password in the "Student Help"
card in MyPortal.
All students have the right to register for transfer-level English and Math classes
and are encouraged to complete transfer level courses in the first semester of college.
You must complete the English & Math course selections in MyPortal in order to be
eligible for priority registration and to enroll in English and Math courses.

A first semester student education plan is needed to be eligible for priority registration. A counselor will help you plan your first semester classes
in one the two ways below:
Option 6A: Apply to a Learning Community
Learning Communities are academic success programs designed to support students by
providing the 3 C’s (Counseling, Classes, and Community). Space is limited.
Change It Now (CIN): Centered for all students interested in multi-cultural literature, leadership, and
social justice.
FYE: Centered around learning and career pathways.
MOVEMENT: Centered around Asian American history, literature, and culture.
Nesians Unite: Centered around Pacific Islander history, literature, and culture.
Puente: Centered around Chicano and Latinx history, literature, and culture.
RISE: Centered around students who have been incarcerated or justice impacted.
Umoja: Centered around African American/Black history, literature, and culture.
SOAR early registration begins on April 19th, 2025. To be eligible to register for
your classes early you must complete the Online Orientation, English and Math Course
Selection, and complete a student education plan.
