Counseling Appointments

STEM Counseling

STEM counselors are available to help you achieve your goals! STEM counseling is for students who plan to major in a STEM field such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, Computer Science, Engineering, and/or are interested in continuing on to a professional program such as Medical, Dental, Pharmacy or Veterinary School.

All STEM students should start by seeing a STEM Counselor.  Here's how to meet with a STEM Counselor, depending on whether you are a new or continuing student:

1. New, incoming, first time in College STEM Students (Planning to start in Summer/Fall 23):

Please start by completing all new student steps, and click the button below to schedule a: STEM First Semester Planning Session

2. Current Chabot STEM students and new, incoming STEM students with prior college credits, please schedule an appointment with a STEM Counselor:

STEM Counselors can help with:

  • Discussing your academic, transfer, and career goals
  • Reviewing transfer and AS/AS-T requirements
  • Developing a Comprehensive Student Education Plan (SEPC), which will map out which courses you need to take each semester until graduation and/or transfer (we recommend you do this within your first year at Chabot)
  • Counseling forms (such as: excess units, prerequisite overrides, course repeat petitions etc.)
  • STEM Resources, such as tutoring, internship and scholarship information
  • Connecting you with STEM Support Programs, such as the MESA Program or Exito STEM Scholars, a program to support Latinx and low-income STEM majors at Chabot College

Follow the instructions below to request an appointment with the STEM Counselor
