Welcome to the English Program Home Page

The English curriculum at Chabot College offers a wide array of options for English students to pursue:

• a creative writing certificate as well as a writing certificate (both 15 units)
• a series of English courses designed for certificate and AA degrees
• courses that transfer to four year institutions (1A, 4, 7, and many literature courses)

We also offer courses in Learning Communities:

• Daraja Program
• Puente Project
• Service Learning

The Language Arts Division also provides writing and reading support through the WRAC Center (Writing, Reading Across the Curriculum), which has:

• a drop-in tutorial center
• 2 computer centers
• instructors and instructional staff to help you with your reading and writing needs.

Before enrolling in any English classes, students are strongly encouraged to take the English assessment test.
