Apply to Chabot College
ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for Chabot College admission, the student must be at least 18 years old or have one of the following:
- U.S. High School Diploma
- General Education Degree (GED)
- California High School Proficiency Certificate
- For 12th graders or below students, they must meet the concurrent enrollment requirements.

Steps to Apply
STEP 1 • Apply for Admission Online
For assistance, visit Student Online Services (Building 700, 1st Floor).
For Undocumented, AB540 and DACA students: review the Dreamers New Student Checklist.
After applying and being admitted:
- New students will get a unique student ID number (W number) by email. Remember to check your spam folder.
- Returning students will retain their previous Chabot College student ID number.
If you do not receive the email with your student ID number within two business days after applying online, you may also obtain your student ID number:
- If you provided your social security number when applying online, you can:
- Go to CLASS-Web.
- Enter your user ID with your social security number.
- Enter your PIN (Your birthdate in numerical format: MMDDYY).
- Log in and click the What is my W ID?
If your PIN is disabled, visit the Admissions & Records Office with your photo ID or email ccarcom@chabotcollege.edu
- If you did not provide a social security number when applying online, then you may obtain your student ID number by visiting the Admissions & Records Office with your photo ID.
STEP 2 • Apply for Financial Aid
All students should consider applying for financial aid.
Financial aid can help pay for enrollment fees, books, transportation, and other educational
costs for eligible students.
STEP 3 • Complete the Orientation
All students should complete the online orientation.
STEP 4 • Assessment and Placement
For information about updated assessment and placement processes, please visit the Assessment Center website.
STEP 5 • Complete Your Student Educational Plan (SEP)
New students should attend a First Semester Planning Session (FSPS) to create an abbrieviated, one-semester SEP.
There are 2 ways you can sign up:

- Or, call or visit the assessment center at (510) 723-6722, Room 714A to sign up.
Returning, transferring-in, and continuing students who do not have an SEP on file, should visit the Counseling Front Desk during office hours at building 700, 2nd Floor, to schedule an appointment to develop an SEP.
