Puente Project Counselor/Coordinator
Department: Puente

I was born and raised in Fremont as the first in my family to go to college. At Ohlone College, I found my voice and my identity as a student in MEChA, the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán, and with the help of her mentors, transferred and graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s degree in Chicano Studies. I continued on to Cal State Hayward where I received my Master’s degree in Counseling, with an emphasis in Education and Multicultural counseling, on June 12, 2000. Being a community college counselor since 2000, I am currently the Chabot College Puente Project Counselor/Coordinator. I am still finding my voice as a professional at this college and a member of the Hayward community. I sit on the advisory board for the Hispanic Community Affairs Council, who awards over 60 thousand dollars in scholarships every year to Latino college students in Alameda County.
