TRIO ASPIRE is federally funded program designed to provide in-depth academic support and motivation to low-income, first generation students to graduate from Chabot College and/or transfer to a four-year college or university.

Eligibility 

Chabot students must meet these specific eligibility requirements: 

  1. Be one or more of the following: 
    1. First generation college student 
    2. Meet federal low-income guidelines 
    3. Eligible for services through the Center for Disability Services 
  2. Goal to transfer to a CSU/UC or private university 

Students Receive

Through a holistic approach that focuses on the whole student, participants receive the following services to ensure success at Chabot and beyond:

Academic Support

  • Academic counseling
  • Tutoring and study groups
  • Priority registration and enrollment assistance
  • College readiness and success courses
  • Assistance developing your Student Educational Plan (SEP)
  • Transfer assistance, including campus visits to local four-year colleges and universities

Career & personal growth

  • Individualized mentoring, personal counseling and case management
  • Cultural enrichment activities
  • Career exploration workshops
