EMPLOYEE EMAIL & OUTLOOK ISSUES
Please be aware that some users are experiencing an issue with MS Outlook. We have traced the problem to a back-up device as opposed to the actual mail system. ITS has been working around the clock to get this resolved. We recommend using the web-based MS Outlook alternative

Mission

The STEM Center supports the Chabot community by providing personnel, resources, and programming to support all students through their STEM pathway, while also retaining and recruiting STEM majors, and maintaining a STEM centric community.

Overview

The STEM Center is a great place to study, do your homework and ask questions about problems or concepts in Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics and the Life Sciences.  STEM is in everything and every student is welcome.

Resources & Services

  • Tutoring (Subject areas may vary by instructor, instructional assistants and tutors.)
    • An instructor and instructional assistants are on hand at all open hours to help students.
    • Student tutors are available during most open hours to help students.
  • Full service computer lab
    • MATLAB on 22 of our computers
    • SolidWorks on 10 of our computers
    • Autodesk Inventor on 20 of our computers
    • Code::Blocks on all of our computers
    • Python on all of our computers
  • Print station
    • Printer with connection to all computers
    • Black & white copier
    • MakerBot 3D printers-1 small, 2 medium, and 1 large 
  • Literature (For use while in the STEM Center)
    • Textbooks currently being used in classes
    • Solutions manuals for textbooks currently being used in classes

Appointments

Appointments are not necessary. Students may drop-in for help any time during our office hours. When you arrive at the STEM Center, come to the center desk to sign up for tutoring. All drop-in is limited to 10 minutes max. However, you may sign up for a tutor as many times as you would like. Please come to the STEM Center prepared with questions if you would like to see a drop-in tutor. If you want a 50 minute one-on-one appointment with a tutor, please visit  the schedule an appointment webpage.
