Student Equity

The Office of Student Equity seeks to reduce stigma in supporting students' basic needs around issues of food & housing insecurity, financial literacy, and mental health wellness.

Our office seeks to be a transformative change agent in promoting a vibrant campus culture that supports the values of diversity, equity, and social justice. Programmatic efforts aim to be culturally responsive in ways that promote high engagement, amplify student voice, and foster a sense of belonging. Additionally, there is an intentional emphasis in maintaining the “community” aspects of being a community college. This entails leveraging students' strengths, assets, and community supports to effectively negotiate barriers posed by their material and lived realities. The ultimate result is to promote student academic and personal success.
