Performing Arts Complex

 

We are currently accepting requests for venue rentals through June 30, 2024. For rentals between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, we will be accepting requests beginning February 1, 2024.

To request a date, please complete the Preliminary Request for Use form and Equipment Checklist below and submit these documents to pacinfo@chabotcollege.edu.

Please note that as of December 21, 2021, the Grand Court and Amphitheater are not available for use.

The Chabot College Performing Arts Complex is excited to announce that we are hiring a new full-time, permanent Stage Technician.
 
If you or someone you know has experience in Light Board Operation (specifically on the ETC ION), Audio Engineering for Live Entertainment and Theatrical Rigging (specifically with a Single Purchase Fly system) then this is the job for you (them)!
 
We are really looking for folks who have worked professionally in a rental house for at least 2 years.

Under general supervision, the Stage Technician will perform a variety of skilled and technical duties for Performing Arts Complex (PAC) productions in all areas (lighting, sound, staging, rigging, and audio/visual equipment). The candidate with training in all areas will feel the most comfortable in this position.
This position will engage with both academic programs and community rental clients.

The Performing Arts Complex is one of the East Bay's premier live event venues, and is accessible to Chabot College and the community. We support student success in education, progress in the workplace and engagement with the civic and cultural life of the diverse East Bay community.

The majority of our events take place in the Reed L. Buffington Visual & Performing Arts Center, which is a 1,432 seat auditorium hosting over 100 diverse events each year. Our regular events include theatrical performances, fundraisers, arts competitions and live concerts. In addition to extensive backstage features, we have our own hard-working production staff, including a stage management crew, lighting and sound operators, and a strong Front of House team.

  1. Reed L. Buffington Visual & Performing Arts Center (PAC) - Our main auditorium with Orchestra and Balcony levels. 1,432 seats.
  2. Stage One (S1) - Our versatile Black Box Theater. 111 seats
  3. The Recital Hall - A small, intimate space with fantastic acoustics. 99 seats.
