Catalytic Converter Anti-Theft Etching Event
Thursday, April 27, 2023
9:00AM to 3:00PM
Open to all current Chabot College Students & Staff
(Please be prepared to provide proof of course registration or employment)
Chabot College and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office have partnered to host a free
catalytic converter etching event for Chabot College students and staff to combat
the troubling rise in catalytic converter thefts on our campus. We will be etching
catalytic converters with the last six digits of the vehicles’ VIN number, along with
the ACSO logo, in an effort to deter the number of stolen converters. Even if the
converters are stolen, the etched information will help with prosecution efforts and
assist with returning the catalytic converter to the victim. Please note wait times may exceed one hour. Thank you for your patience.
*A community wide Catalytic Converter Anti-Theft Etching Event will be held September 2023 - Stay Tuned*
