  • Graduated from Chabot College in 1975 with an AA in Automotive Technology
  • 1975 to 1980 Full time and 1980 to 1985 part time
  • Marine mechanic (boating industry) duties included inboard, outboard, inboard/outboard (I/O), jet boats, rigging, generators, sanitation systems, electronics installation and repair, and trailer repairs, some diesel engine repair
  • 1980 to 1984 BMW dealership - technician
  • 1984 to 1985 Volvo dealership - technician
  • 1985 to 1986 Independent import repair shop - BMW, MZB, VW, Volvo, Porsche, Audi, etc.
  • 1986 to 1987 Honda dealership - technician
  • 1987 Chrysler dealership - technician
  • 1988 to 2004 Program Representative for the Bureau of Auto Repair & Department of Consumer Affairs

Activities: station inspections, technician training, consumer complaints, undercover investigations, write criminal reports, prepare search warrants, work with the District Attorney on investigative cases, testify in court as to investigative cases, automotive technical advisor for the complaint mediation division, document several undercover vehicles for use in the smog check enforcement program, interpretation and application of the Laws & Regulations regarding the Automotive Repair Act, provide training for departmental personnel in technical aspects of complaint handling
