Personal Counseling

Counselors can help you resolve personal issues that interfere with school when you need and seek assistance.

Personal counseling is short-term and is related to success in college.
It may deal with topics such as:

  • Self-awareness
  • Interpersonal communication
  • Stress management
  • Clarification and resolution of specific problems related to academic success
  • Relationship issues (problems with parents, spouses/significant others, divorce, etc.)
  • Dealing with Grief or illness
  • Dealing with feelings that arise because of lack of financial or emotional support.

Short-term counseling may be provided through personal counseling appointments in the counseling center and/or student health center and/or referring students to appropriate community resources.
