New Students - The Essentials
Five Steps to Become A DSPS Student
- Step 1: Apply online to Chabot College.
- Complete the Chabot College online application
- The student should receive their Student ID # (W number) by email 24 to 48 hours after submitting the online application
- Step 2: Complete the DSPS Student intake
- At the bottom of the form you can upload your disability verification. If you do not
have your disability verification (IEP, 504 plan, or doctor's letter) in digital format
when you do complete the DSPS intake, it can:
- 1) be brought in person to DSPS to be scanned, or
- 2) emailed later to cc-dsps@chabotcollege.edu
- Either way, the verification needs to be submitted before making the appointment to see a DSPS counselor
- At the bottom of the form you can upload your disability verification. If you do not
have your disability verification (IEP, 504 plan, or doctor's letter) in digital format
when you do complete the DSPS intake, it can:
- Step 3: Schedule an Online or Phone DSPS Counseling Appointment:
- Call: 510-723-6725 (Leave a detailed message)
- Email: cc-dsps@chabotcollege.edu
- PLEASE NOTE: If an accommodations is needed for the appointment, such as ASL, please let the DSPS staff know when making the appointment.
- Step 4: Complete the remaining Chabot College New Student Requirements
- In addition to step 1 above, applying to Chabot, new students need to:
- 2) Complete the FAFSA application (FAFSA assistance available)
- 3) Complete the Online Orientation
- 4) Complete the English Informed Course Selection and Math Guided Self Placement worksheets in MyPortal
- 5) Complete Title IX - Sexual Assault and Violence Prevention Training

- In addition to step 1 above, applying to Chabot, new students need to:
- Step 5: Attend DSPS Counseling Appointment to Become a DSPS student. Students work with
counselor to discuss accommodations & register for classes
