My name is Doris Hanhan. I completed my B.S. in Math and Computer Science at CSU Hayward and M.S. in Math from UC Santa Cruz. I've been teaching at Chabot for over 15 years. In my spare time, just kidding...I don't have any! I have two boys that keep me quite busy. They are currently in middle school and active in Cross Country, Track and Field and Basketball. I am an assistant coach to their running teams. I was born in Jordan and speak Arabic and some Spanish.

I am the head of the Math Department here at Chabot College and occasionally teach computer science as well. Before coming to Chabot, I also taught both Math and CS at Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo back in the early 2000s. In my previous life before teaching, I was a programmer analyst in a management information systems department at a Silicon Valley company, which has since been acquired by Intel. I have a broad basic science background. In addition to completing the engineering physics series in college, I passed the Advanced Placement Examinations in Chemistry, and Biology while in high school. I love making connections between disciplines, so feel free to talk to me about the math in your other classes, in both the natural and social sciences! When I am not engaged in mathematical and scientific activities, I like to swim, hike, and dance. I enjoy partner social dancing (mostly country western two-step) and belong to American clogging and English Morris dance groups.

Born in Moscow Educated in Kiev State University with MS in statistics, PhD in Mathematics (Kiev State Institute of Mathematics) Stochastic Integrals associated with non-linear Partial Differential Equations.
