The Business Pitch Competition!

The highlight of the year for our Entrepreneurship students and program is the annual Business Pitch Competition, featuring ten students with great new business ideas presenting their ideas to a prestigious judging panel of entrepreneurs and investors, former winners of the event, and Chabot's College President.  The 2014 competition awarded almost $10,000 in prizes to the top three winners.

2015 Event

Our next competition is on May 13, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in Chabot's Community Center, Room 722.

How to Participate

Competitors must complete Entrepreneurship-1, and additional Entrepreneurship courses will help you to refine your new business concept and bring it to life.  Ten students will be selected for the competition.  Those ten students must complete ENTR-16, Making the Pitch.  This 1-unit course focuses on developing a persuasive, comprehensive elevator pitch for the competition.

Making the Pitch:  ENTR-16

An elevator pitch is a short summary used to quickly and simply define a person, profession, product, service, organization or event and its value proposition. This course will teach you how to identify the attributes of a value proposition; outline a presentation that articulates those values; orally present your value proposition in the form of a 2 minute elevator pitch.
