Time is running out!

Students who submit all financial aid

documents for the 2009-2010 school year by July 2nd will have a response on

eligibility by July 24th.

 This means, you don’t have to stand in line or inquire about your file until after July 24th.  Simply, check CLASSWeb on July 25th and start the Fall semester with a peace of mind.  Students who submit required documents after July 2nd will hear from our office at a later date, with no guarantee of awarding before the start of the Fall semester.  Our Financial Aid Office will dedicate the week of July 6th-July 10th solely to processing, our office will be closed and only window #6 in the building 100 Lobby will be open for limited services.

2008-2009 FAFSA Deadline is here!

The last day to electronically submit a 2008-2009 FAFSA is June 30th at 8:59pm (Pacific Standard Time). To find out if you are eligible for summer federal aid, you must submit a 2008-2009 FAFSA, visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete your online application.

Get Help with your 2009-2010 FAFSA

Location: Bldg 100, Library, Room 119 The FAFSA Help workshops are dedicated for students who need one-on-one assistance with the FAFSA application or are ready to apply online. These workshops are open to high school or college students, regardless of where they will attend college. The goal is to assure successful 2009-2010 FAFSA completion.

  • Wednesday, June 24, 2009: 5:00pm-6:30pm
  • Wednesday, July 1, 2009: 5:00pm-6:30pm
  • Wednesday, July 8, 2009:5:00pm-6:30pm
  • Wednesday, July 15, 2009: 5:00pm-6:30pm

What to Bring:

2008 W-2 and Federal Income Tax Forms (IRS 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ)
2008 Untaxed Income
Driver's License or State ID
Social Security Card
Spouse or Parent's Social Security numbers and dates of birth
Permanent Resident Card number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)

The '09-'10 FAFSA Application is now available online

The FAFSA 2009-2010 priority deadline is March 2nd, however students may still apply for financial aid and have until June of 2010. Completing the FAFSA will determine if the student is eligible to receive federal and state aid. The earlier the student completes their FAFSA application, the earlier their financial aid may be process.  To expedite your FAFSA submission, complete the worksheet before going online.

If you are a prospective student, a current Chabot student, teacher, or parent who want to learn more about Financial Aid, we participate in various events in the community.  Click on "Financial Aid Announcements and Events" you will be able to view our calendar, which has an array of Chabot campus and community events. These events will be filled with opportunities for you to learn about Financial Aid, Apply for Financial Aid, Apply for Scholarships, interact with Financial Aid Staff and Chabot Campus Staff. You may need to register for some of our events.  We invite you to look at our calendar and mark yours!

If you are a Chabot student and need assistance or have questions or concerns regarding your individual financial aid, our office is here to serve you! If you have questions about your Financial Aid Status, need assistance with completing your Financial Aid documents, or your verification process while at Chabot, please make sure you come during our office hours.

If you are a current Chabot student, please bring your Chabot College ID or have your SS# handy so that our staff may service you. If you are a prospective student, please bring a government issued ID and have your SS# ready so that we may work with you.
