Program Eligibility

Prerequisite Courses

  • Applicants must have completed the following prerequisite courses by the end of the Fall.
  • Minimum grades of C must be earned in the prerequisite classes listed below.
  • Waivers and course substitutions will not be consider for the courses below. Review the prerequisite flowchart.

Note: If you are completing your last pre-requisites in the Fall term, you will need to submit your application in January prior to January 31st.  Applications will not be considered after the deadline. The applicant is responsible to make sure all required documents are received by the Chabot College Admissions Office postmarked no later than January 31st.

Grade Point Average

A minimum of a 2.5 grade point average is required for placement into Dental Hygiene. Grade point average is calculated from all college courses the student has taken at all colleges attended.

Residency in the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District

It is not necessary to be a resident of the college's district in order to be placed into the Dental Hygiene program. However, 5 additional points are awarded to students who are district residents.
