Meet Our Staff

Hollie Meier RDH, BSDH is the 1st year Lead Instructor in the Dental Hygiene Program. She received her Associate of Science and Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene from Foothill College, Los Altos Hills CA. After 29 years as a dental hygienist in private practice, Hollie is thrilled to play a role in educating future generations of dental hygienists at Chabot College.

Julie Coan, is the Program Director of the Dental Hygiene Program at Chabot College, in Hayward, California. She received her Associates in Arts degree in Dental Hygiene from Diablo Valley College in 2002. She then completed a Bachelor of Science degree in 2009, and her Master’s degree in Public health Practice in 2013, both from Loma Linda University, California. Julie has also been very active within her professional organization, the California Dental Hygienist’s Association (CDHA), serving in multiple leadership positions including as President in 2016-2017. Julie envisions dental hygiene from the perspective of a profession which has the duty and ability to provide quality dental hygiene care to everyone within the community. As an educator and program director, developing dental hygienists who value the importance of lifelong learning, community service, and advancing the art and science of dental hygiene is a professional and personal goal.
